Using AI technology, we automatically create personalized designs based on the content our users want to print.     As our Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), you will be the driving force behind our growth strategy worldwide. With a marketing team of 25+ people that is responsible for generating 40MEUR+ this year in revenue in the EU, USA and Australia, you are leading one of the biggest and most important teams at our company.

    You have a strong track record of scaling businesses in e-commerce to 100MEUR+ in annual revenue and love growth challenges. Together with your highly motivated and experienced team you’ll craft and execute the yearly strategic marketing plan that fuels user acquisition, retention, internationalization and brand positioning in a highly competitive landscape.     ➤ WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Lead & Scale: Take full ownership of the marketing department of Journi (including User Acquisition, Influencer Marketing, CRM, Brand Communication, Product Marketing & New Markets (starting with the US)), scaling the business through performance-driven initiatives to 100MEUR+ annual revenue.

    • Data-Driven Strategy: Forecasting, developing and executing a marketing roadmap based on analytics, market trends, and user insights.

    • Multi-Channel Ownership: Manage and optimize a multi-channel (organic & paid) strategy across existing channels like (paid) social, online advertising, search (SEO & SEM), influencer marketing and potential new and experimental growth channels where you have expertise.

    • Product & Market Insights: Deep understanding of our products, the target customers and the market trends and their impact on customer behavior, ensuring tailored solutions that add real value. Exchange with befriended CMOs from other scale-ups.

    • Customer Acquisition & Retention: Build strategies that drive customer LTV, engagement, loyalty and conversion.

    • Team Leadership: Grow, train and lead a high-performance marketing team, fostering a culture of success, ownership, fast and continuous learning.

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO, CFO, CPO and our strategic (marketing) boards to align marketing strategy and measures with our company vision and goals.

    • Budget & ROI Focus: Own the marketing budget, from forecasting to execution, ensuring every euro/dollar spent is optimized for our efficiency target.

    • Brand Building & Positioning: Shaping a compelling brand narrative that resonates across our key markets (EU & US) with the help of our head of brand.


    ➤ YOUR BAG OF TRICKS

    • 8+ years of experience in marketing leadership roles and scaling marketing efforts within high-growth e-commerce or consumer brands (making min. 100MEUR+ in yearly revenue).

    • Strategic and analytical mindset. You’re comfortable working with data, performance metrics (ROAS, CAC, LTV), and forecasting models to guide decision-making.

    • Expertise in performance marketing, including CRM with email, in-app and text messaging, as well as user acquisition with social (Meta, TikTok, YouTube), search (Google Ads, SEO, ASA, ASO), influencer marketing, and TV campaigns.

    • A strong understanding of product marketing, including pricing strategies, in-app marketing, retention programs, loyalty initiatives, and localization efforts.

    • Proven leadership skills. You have the ability to mentor, inspire, and develop a team, balancing high performance with a supportive and collaborative environment that’s in line with our culture and values.

    • International experience in European e-commerce, with a good understanding of the US marketing landscape.

    • A strong industry network, including connections with a peer group of CMOs and marketing experts to exchange learnings and stay ahead of emerging trends, as well as key platforms like Meta, Google, and Apple)

    • Ability to balance creativity and data—developing innovative marketing ideas while ensuring they drive meaningful business results.

    • Fluent English communication skills (German is a plus!)

    • Experience with out-of-home advertising.

    • Background in mobile-first companies with direct or subscription monetization.

    • Knowledge of affiliate and partnership marketing.

    • Deep understanding of US consumer behavior and media buying.

    • Familiarity with AI & automation tools for marketing optimization.
